For many years, the Blue Cross has been involved in educating people who want to become certified addiction therapists, as well as supporting the further professional development of those who have already started this process. We employ respected trainers who have been practicing in their field for many years. We strive to respond to demand and constantly expand our offer with new training.
We have been running our operations in Brok (Masovian Voivodeship) for many years, and now we have a comfortable facility in beautiful Pszczyna (Silesian Voivodeship), with convenient access (close to Katowice, which is well connected with all of Poland).
In the field of educating therapists, we have organized training in the field of addiction, recommended by the National Office for Counteracting Drug Addiction. For many years, the training of therapists was carried out under the name Addiction Therapy Study and was accredited by the State Agency for Solving Alcohol Problems.
Successful completion of the training is equivalent to completing the first stage in the process of obtaining the certificate of Addiction Therapy Instructor or Addiction Psychotherapy Specialist (the title depends on the participant's education).
One of the next stages in obtaining the title of therapist is Clinical Supervision, which consists of a series of group meetings with a supervisor to discuss problematic cases encountered in their work.
Currently, the education of specialists working with individuals struggling with addiction and their loved ones is carried out according to new rules. People interested in gaining qualifications will find information in the "Specialization" section.
The technological development that we have observed in recent decades has brought not only enormous benefits and improvements in life, but also new risks for example, new technologies. This state of affairs means new challenges for therapists in their professional work. Hence the idea of organizing training programs covering issues such as gambling, work, sex or computer addiction, as well as the use of work methods with proven and scientifically proven effectiveness, such as Motivational Dialogue. The organization of these training programs was made possible through cooperation with the National Office for Counteracting Drug Addiction and funding received from the Fund for Solving Gambling Problems managed by Minister of Health.
The research conducted and the results obtained have allowed us to expand the service available in therapeutic centers and, in addition to programs aimed at complete abstinence from alcohol, we have also introduced a Drinking Reduction Program. The Blue Cross incorporated this in to its services we also decided to launch POP training for therapists willing to learn this type of work.
We know how important it is to continuously develop and follow global trends in therapy not only in Poland. That is why we organize study visits, the aim of which is to exchange experiences and good practices with foreign therapists.
Because the problem of addiction has a widespread impact), we want to reach people who come into contact with individuals struggling with addiction in their everyday work, such as doctors, nurses, social workers, teachers and police officers. To support them, we organize regional conference and other activities that may help them effectively assist addicts and their loved ones).
