Due to the dismissal of Director Piotr Jabłoński from the office of director of the National Center for Addiction Prevention, we express our opposition to this decision. Director Piotr Jabłoński is a person who, in addition to his broad competences and extensive knowledge of addiction treatment, demonstrates high personal culture, empathy and sensitivity to social issues.
The years of cooperation between the Foundation and the National Bureau for Counteracting Drug Addiction, and then the National Center for Addiction Prevention, headed by Director Jabłoński, were characterized by reliability, transparency and clarity of rules. our cooperation with KBPN has been ongoing since 2006 and is currently continuing within KCPU. The Foundation implements projects funded by Gambling Problem Solving Fund and organizes the specialization training of future psychotherapists in the field of addictions.
We are concerned that the decision to dismiss Director Piotr Jabłoński may contribute to the destabilization of the addiction treatment system. We observe with regret the consequences of failing to adapt the Act on upbringing in sobriety and counteracting alcoholism and the Act on counteracting drug addiction to current realities. As a result, individuals and their communities suffer from a lack of adequate measures to counteract harmful phenomena.
We express our support for Director Piotr Jabłoński and ask the Minister of Health to verify the decision to dismiss him.
